 NEXT workshop 19th-21st July Eikellegimaa
 Analogue film workshop - Landscapes and scenes

Three-day analogue film workshop is led by Dragos Andriana, a teacher of Photography and Dynamic Image from the National University of Arts Bucharest, Romania, and a curator of the photography archive at The Library of the Romanian Academy, Bucharest, Romania.The workshop is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 program “Arts of Survival”, within the framework of a theatre performance called "Periphery". 
**What will we do?**
We will create small films shot on 8mm and 16mm. Dragos will teach us how to use the 16mm and 8mm cameras.The development of the films will take place in Riga at BAL studio: (https://www.balticanaloglab.lv/). You will learn how to develop the films and how to digitize them. Film development will take place on July 22-23 in Riga.

**Where?**
The workshop is conducted in the south of Estonia at Eikellegimaa farm (Harjuseaugu, Tellaste küla, 65247 Võru maakond) on 19.-21. July.More about Eikellegimaa: https://www.eikellegimaa.ee/en

**Accommodation & Food**
Bring your own tent and food, which we will share and cook together on site.

**Participation**
We have 5 places for participants at Eikellegimaa, South Estonia. The participation fee is 60 EUR.

We have 2 places for participants at BAL, Riga. The participation fee is 50 EUR (accommodation in Riga is not covered).

Aeg: 25-26. mai 2024 (mõlemal päeval kell 11-15, 4-tunnised töötoad)

Asukoht: Eikellegimaa

Sisu:  Õmblemine, punumine, maskid ja rekvisiidid. Töö traditsiooniliste käsitööriistade ja looduslike materjalidega. Töötoa eestvedajad: Marit Külv ja Maari Soekov.
 

Muudes tegevustes abistavad vabatahtlikult kogukonna omad käsitöölised.




Public workshop III / Characters in Landscapes / Costumes and Craft

Design a character and realise the costume

Time: 25th and 26th of May 2024.  11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 4-hour workshops)

Location: Eikellegimaa - the ancient valley of Piusa river, Võrumaa

Content: Workshop on developing a character, sewing, braiding, masks and props. Work with traditional hand tools and natural materials.

Workshop leaders: Marit Külv and Maari Soekov.
 

Maari Soekov is an artist and illustrator who creates animalistic characters in magical pattern worlds.

Craftsmen from the community are present to assist with tools, materials and techniques.


Event is a collaboration of MTÜ Eikellegimaa and Finno-Ugric Film Fond (FUFF) with support of Tartu 2024.


Public workshop IV / Analogue film workshop - Landscapes and scenes

Time: July 16-18, 2024 at 11:00-15:00 every day

Location: Eikellegimaa - the ancient valley of Piusa river, Võrumaa

Content: Workshop on creating audiovisual images/ films for the performance - “Periphery”. We use 16mm camera equipment and different analogue film technics (scratching, painting, covering) - in collaboration of the already existing scenes of the show. We make short films which will be projected by a 16 mm projector in the actual performance in the scenery-landscape.
We will be developing the films in Riga.

Workshop leader: Dragos Adriana - Lector, Photography and Dynamic Image, National University of Arts Bucharest Bucharest, Romania

The workshop is in English with possible Estonian translation.
